If you want to do more with your Chromebook and install Ubuntu Linux on it, this tutorial should get you going.

You’ll need to enable developer mode in order to do this, but once that is done, you only have to enter a couple of commands to get Ubuntu installed on your Chromebook.

You may be limited on what you can install if you have an ARM processor, but you can still follow along and complete the installation.

sudo sh ~/Downloads/crouton -e -t xfce

Once the install is complete, you’ll use this command to open Ubuntu:

sudo startxfce4

Cycle through Chromium OS and your running graphical chroots using Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Back and Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Forward.
