The Mixcder E9 headphones are easily the best headphones under $100.
The folks over at Mixcder reached out to me to ask if I’d be interested in reviewing their E9 over-ear noise cancelling headphones.
I’ve been using them for a month now and I’m in love.
The construction quality of the Mixcder E9 headphones is great and their understated aesthetic gives them a bit of a stealth look. They weigh enough to feel good, but they’re not so heavy as to make them uncomfortable. The headband and the ear cups are super plush and are great for long listening sessions.
I’ve been using the Mixcder E9s for video editing and they pick up SO much more than my other headphones and now I’m able to hear more of the background noises from my recordings and can do more about it.
They’ve got a unique, pleasant sound signature that sounds great, but doesn’t overdo the bass like Beats do. That being said, they can handle bass when you want them to. After doing some testing with bass-enhanced music, they get loud enough to vibrate your ears and I’ve never had them distort even at high sound levels.
The sound stage is pretty much in the sweet spot. Things have the right distance to them when you’re listening and they don’t ever make you feel like someone is just screaming in the middle of your brain.
The Mixcder E9s can be used in wired or wireless mode and you should get between 20-30 hours of listening time in wireless mode depending on how much you use the active noise cancelling (ANC). You can also use the ANC in wired mode for a great listening experience as well.
