If you have had a 2020 like I have, there’s a chance that all the social distancing has left you sitting on the couch watching Netflix and, unfortunately, with a few extra pounds around your midsection. In this post we’ll look at installing an application container called “wger” that will help you keep track of your new exercise plan.
“wger Workout Manager is a free, open source web application that manages your exercises, workouts and nutrition.” – wger
The hub.docker.com page shows us how to install wger using an ssh command. We’re going to take a look at installing wger via the Stack I created out of their command:
Copy and paste that into a Portainer Stack on your server.
You can change the 8080 port to whatever you need it to be and then click the “Deploy the Container” button. Give it a few minutes as the image download is over 800MB and it will have to download and extract all of that. The system will then go through a setup process. When it’s done, you should be able to go to http://your-server-address:8080 and access the website home page.
Next, you can sign in using “admin” for the username and password. Of course you’ll want to change that when you get logged in.
