When working on a Raspberry Pi project it’s nice to have a small form factor setup that is easy to use and easy to see what you’re working on.
I’ve got a couple of monitors that kind of do the job in this case, but, luckily, a company called Outjun reached out to me to see if I’d be interested in checking out their IPS Touchscreen Raspberry Pi 7″ Monitor.
The Outjun 7” inch IPS monitor is specially designed for Raspberry Pi, or similar single-board systems and projects. It’s got a 1024×600 resolution and an IPS display that gives sharp and clear image quality.
On the back it’s got dual speakers that run at 2 watts and 8 ohms. While not super loud, they get the job done pretty well in a quiet environment.
The included screws, screwdriver, and mounting holes on the back make mounting the screen to a Raspberry Pi very easy.
The process of putting together the 7″ touchscreen monitor was super easy and only took a couple of minutes and that included doing all of my cable management as well.
The Outjun screen is driver-free or plug and play which means no additional installation of drivers is required. It’s got 2 USB cables; one for touch function connected to laptop USB port and the other for power supply via the included power adapter (5V/2A). It’s got a standard HDMI plug for extra ease of use and comes with an HDMI ribbon cable to make cable routing VERY easy.
