Recently, the folks over at Neewer asked me to take a look at their Neewer F100 Field Monitor. So in this video we’ll take a look at the upgrade I recently got.
For the last couple of years I’ve been using an old laptop screen that I converted into a cheap, DIY monitor. The problem with my original solution was poor viewing angles, bad color reproduction, and it wasn’t portable in any sense.
The Neewer F100 is pretty much the exact opposite of that. Its colors are great as are the viewing angles.
It’s got a built-in speaker and it can be powered with Sony NP-F550 Series Batteries which makes it great for taking a screen on the go!
The Neewer F100 7″ supports 4K input via HDMI and features a 1280 x 800 screen resolution.
There are also some features to help you check your Reds, Greens, and Blues separately so you can make sure your levels look great. Also, you can see what your shot will look like in black and white (mono color).
I haven’t quite figured out the Focus Assist feature yet, but it does have one if you know how to use it.
The monitor has HDMI and composite inputs as well as a headphone port and built-in speaker. It comes with an interchangeable L-series battery plate attached and supports optional L-series batteries or a 12V AC adapter for power. This affordable monitor also offers focus assist, pixel-to-pixel, and zoom functions for setting up your shot. An HDMI clamp is included for preventing your HDMI cable from accidentally being removed, and a shoe mount is supplied for mounting the monitor on top of your camera. A sun hood is also included for shooting outdoors.
- Enhanced 450 cd/m2 backlight and 1200:1 Color Contrast Ratio
- Built-in VIDEO/AUDIO/HDMI inputs
- Suitable for several different signals (HDMI and AV)
- Wide View Angle IPS panel with LED Backlight
- 1280×800 resolution
- Shoe mount and sun shade included
NOTE: The Monitor is Compatible with Sony NP-F550 Series Batteries (Battery and Charger are NOT Included. Please Purchase Separately).
I want to give a big thanks to Neewer for sending over their F100 field monitor for me to check out! Pick one up at the links below!
